This update adds public images, case conclusions, image credits, and a clearer sources page to keep “What Is Japan?” grounded in checkable local practice.
What changed
The home page now states its judgment first, then builds the evidence through four cases: Shirakawa-go, washoku, Kanazawa craft, and Setouchi islands. Each case has an openly licensed Wikimedia Commons image, with author and license listed on the sources page.
How the content stays reliable
JNTO verifies regional, climate, and festival context; UNESCO verifies World Heritage, Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Creative Cities information; Benesse Art Site documents the project’s own island history. Institutional material and editorial inference are now separated.
